GETTING STARTED Step 1: A. After logging in (http://your_IP/ntcartadmin.asp or http://your_domain.com/ntcartadmin.asp), go to the Change Admin Info link. B. Be sure you enter the Username and Password you want to use. This Username and password will be used to admin the cart as well as to retrieve the secure orders. C. Be sure to enter your email address in the Admin Email field. If you forget your Username or Password, you will be provided a link to click to have your Username and Password emailed to you, only to that address. D. Secure SSL. This is presetup for you during the cart setup. Do not change! E. Enter the Cart URL. This is preset for you. However, please note the following: If your domain is already on our servers, the URL here will be your http://your_domain_name.com. If your domain name isn't active on our server yet, the URL here will be the IP we assigned you. It will look something like: http://123.123.123.123 CAUTION #1: When your domain becomes active on our servers, you MUST come back to this admin screen and change this Cart URL to http://your_domain_name.com or http://www.your_domain_name.com CAUTION #2: The cart uses cookies. Therefore is is VERY important to be consistent with your URL's. For example, let's say you provide a link on your home page to http://www.your_domain_name.com/ntcart.asp - You must enter http://www.your_domain_name.com in this field. If you have your link without the www like http://your_domain_name.com/ntcart.asp - you must enter http://your_domain_name.com in this field. F. Click Submit changes Step 2: A. Go to the Order Options. B. Enter your necessary information, as it applies to your Company. C. Real-time credit card processing. Currently ntShoppingCart supports PayPal and the LinkPoint gateway. D. Click Update Step 3: A. Go to Shipping Setup if applicable and set up your shipping information. Step 4: A. Go to Cart Display Options. B. This option lets you customize the look and feel of your cart. Set up these options as you desire. C. You can choose to allow a search or not, to split your products into categories or not, and whether to use images for the product names instead of text/words. D. You can choose whether to use the default cart images, or to use your own. This refers to the images such as "Checkout", "Buy Now", "Continue Shopping", etc. E. You can use the Page Header and Page footer options to make the cart keep your site's look and feel. F. Click Update to save any changes. Step 5: A. Go to Inventory List. B. Click on Submit Query to access the Product setup screen. C. Click on Add Item at the bottom of the page to start entering your Products. D. You can completely control the way a product is displayed with the options available in this setup. E. Save the product. F. If you're setting up a product that is similar to an existing product, you can click on Add Using Current and the system will create a new product with the basic information the previous product was setup with. This makes for speedy entry of your products. Step 6: A. If you're using thumbnails OR you have indicated to use specials, and you've entered 1 or more products in the Products on Special option in the Cart Display Options, click the Create Specials/Thumbnails. This will generate your thumbnails automatically and create your specials page. That is basically it. Of course we could have gone into a lot more detail, but hopefully this will get you going so you can start playing with your cart.
